CCNS Norah Stephen Oncology Scholar Awards
Undergraduate Students, Medical Residents or students registered in a Graduate Program in Nova Scotia commencing the following September are invited to apply for a Norah Stephen Oncology Scholar Award funded by Cancer Care Nova Scotia. These student research awards are designed to foster an interest in the field of oncology. Each year, approximately 9 awards of $6,500 each are presented to students taking part in cancer-related research or clinical training and experience projects. The Norah Stephen Oncology Scholar Awards are named in honour of former Cancer Care Nova Scotia board member, Norah Stephen. A cancer survivor and advocate, Norah was a dedicated volunteer with the Nova Scotia cancer system for almost 35 years. Norah passed away in 2008 at the age of 94 but her inspiration lives on through the Norah Stephen Oncology Scholar Awards.
A funding competition for these awards will take place each year in February. The February 2012 competition is now closed. Thank you to those who applied.
